Utis from bladder sling?

I had a bladder sling put int 1 1/2 ago and hav had multiple utis since.  I already hav kidney stones so those two together don't mix very well, especially when a stone gets stuck. I've been in the hospital and septic with stuck stones two times in the last year. Five days in hospital last time this month. Anyone ever had to hav ur bladder sling nicked to keep from getting utis? Urologist is going to b doing a bladder scan next month to see if I'm retaining urine. Maybe that's the cause? I sure hope he can get to the source of the problem!

    Never had a bladder sling what is it?

    I have kidney stones and was getting frequent UTI's but UTI's are better now.

    I am seeing a urologist in a couple of weeks and I hope he will agree to remove kidney stone this year.

    It is too big to either pass or blast.

      A bladder sling (in my case) is a thin strip of mesh that goes under the urethra to keep incontinence away. It took care of that problem but now I'm wondering if the bladder sling is too high and not allowing me to empty my bladder all the way, thus causing the frequent utis. I don't know. I hav a follow up appt with urologist to see abt that. glad u r not having utis like u were.  Keep in touch!
