Vagifem pessary or cream for Vaginal Atrophy

I’ve been using the Vagifem pessaries now for over 6 months.Things seem better but I’m thinking of trying the oestrogen cream. I have a slight light brown discharge all the time and need panty liners constantly. I’m presuming this is from the irritation on the vaginal walls. I have had the discharge for 12 months now as had it before pessaries and have been tested for infections and thrush in the beginning which was negative.Perhaps I need another swab. For me this is the worst part as fed up with wearing protection and it’s putting me off looking for a new relationship. The gynaecologist didn’t seem concerned at the time of my visit. I haven’t heard anyone else on here mention this. I will make another appointment but wondered if anyone could help. Thankyou.I’m fed up with researching this symptom!!

Hi Dotsie.  Ive been on vagifem pessaries for a long time now for Vaginal Atrophy and I started to actually bleed.  Im going to my docs his morning as I think its the applicator for the pessary because at the end of the applicator where the pessary is , it is not smooth and i think its tearing me.  Im thinking about using the Estrogol cream.   Like you im back to wearing pads which is very annoying.  Im 69

Thanks for your reply Ruth but it’s definately not the applicator as I have it all the time and no blood.
