Vagina moisturizer while on estrogen cream

Hi all on Estrace now 2 weeks no improvement even though I don't feel dry inside. Just tried using yes vaginal moisturizer because in so much discomfort don't think it is working. Anyone using moisturizer in between Estrace or Premarin treatments? If I feel moist inside why am I still itching, burning and sore. Maybe I am allergic to Estrace. Also wierd is that I am much better in the morning. The burning gets worse as day goes on.

Hi Linda
I don't know your background or situation but if you are coping with VA, then I think it may take longer than 2 weeks. I don't mean to be cruel but I got VA last August and was given Estrace for two week with no improvement, I went on to Vagifem twice a week from there, with no improvement, paid to see a specialist in january who upped the Vagifem to 5 times a week. Around March things began to improve but I am still struggling though am a lot better. It is a seemingly long process.
I have had a cystoscopy to rule out bladder dysfuntion and other tests. it's a really hard and long road for some of us to get better.
Last week I started taking Amitryptyline to help with pain and so my message is that I think it takes time to ease VA. Everyone is different though and some people get sorted earlier but I haven't.
It might not be the product that is tinging but the condition itself.

Hi Linda. I also feel a bit better in the morning and my urine doesn't burn as much but right now because it's night time I feel awful so sore and burning hot and using my good old faithful icepack. I've been told not to,use anything at all on myself except for the Vagifem so I'm not sure about moisturiser. I've decided to,pay for a private consultant for the initial examination as there is a 20 week waiting list on the NHS which is ridiculous so then I'll know the diagnosis for sure as my own doctor initially thought it was Lichen Sclerosis as it's a bit white in places and that's a different medication as it's steroids use use then.

Hi Marion I am in US so don't have NHS. 20 weeks is riduculous. There is a specialist in Philadelphia that specializes in womens health issues. I could not get to see him till March 2018. I had a biopsy for lichen schlerosis and it was negative. The biopsy caused me pain and got infected. Ok now . Since I started Estrace which was two weeks ago I feel like I am getting worse instead of better. Like I said mornings are better but it is now 6:30 PM and I burn. I used some Yes moistureizer and it helped a little. It sounds like the vagifem has not worked for you yet. How long have you been on Vagefem. Can I asked how old you r? I am 71 and think I may have started on this too late. I am retired so luckily don't have to worry about work. But I feel my life is totally affected by this.

Hi Linda I am 75 and this only started around xmas time so it's not been that long but long enough. I am having a particularly bad day today as whilst out shopping I got the most horrendous pain in my clitoral area like a large hot needle sticking into me, I couldn't wait to,get home and put cool water onto myself. It's still bad so,I've just used some lidocaine that my doctor prescribed for me when it gets too bad but this is the first time I've used it and so far it hasn't worked 15 minutes later. By the way to all the ladies here have any of you used lidocaine. I still think the Vagifem is causing it to get worse but I really am not sure. I won't use it for the next couple of days. You're right as it does effect your whole life as I can't stop thinking about it because it's hurting non stop.
