vaginal dryness

Does anyone know the difference between overstin 1mg and vagifem. Also has anyone had success with any alternative remedies. I have just tried replens and Regelle with no success at all. I am reluctant to keep using the overstin but everytime i stop and go back to alternatives i am back to being so sore i actually bleed like tiny tears its awful.

Hi, Ovestin is estriol cream, and vagifem is an estrogen tablet. Both should be inserted into the vagina, but ovestim can be put on the vulva also, its very low in estrogen and wont do any harm. If it works for you, you can use it for life with no ill effects.

Thank you, you hear so many awful stories about HRT its good to hear something positive

i agree your V needs the oestrogen otherwise it will continue to deteriorate. I use ovestin twice a week and it is such a small amount apparently equivalent to taking one HrT tablet a year !

i wouldnt use replens asa moisturuser as its full of nasties. YeS products are much kinder and dont sting, you can get them over the counter and on prescription too. Good Luck x

      Hi Laura

Could you please let me know how to join the group. I have just been diagnosed with vulva and vaginal atrophy although I have had it for years. Now to the point where I bleed very easily.

      Many thanks
