Vaginal dryness, itching, pain during or after sex - I don't know what to do anymore

Approximately 4 years ago things started to change for me sexually. I was always dry and it gradually got worse. I went to the doctor many many times over this and have been checked for everything with no results.

More recently most times I have sex either during or just after I feel a burning pain and uncomfortable itching for days after. Sometimes though I have none of these symptoms. I also have the herpes virus and this may be contributing but I don't have any flair ups and never really have over almost 20 years. I used to get thrush quite a bit especially after my second child and felt like I was always using canestan creams to fix it up. I used to go to the doctors all the time just in case it was related to the herpes virus to be careful but it was only ever thrush.

I never used to be dry during sex but over the last 4 years its just come on and I really have little interest in sex. I am 39 years old and have been checked for early menopause so its not that and have had tests with a gynecologist who says everything is fine.

Can anyone relate? Maybe have some ideas of what couple be happening. I am currently suffering greatly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help.

it could be vulvodynia. do you have other symptoms such as pins?

Same here and i am only 30! its most likely vulvodanyia mixed with a hormone imbalance and low estrogen. You need to focus on a strict low sugar diet, plenty of water, look into vitamins that can increase your estrogen, and you may need to speak to your doctor about possibly going on tricyclic antidepressants for the pain and using topical creams for the dryness. I am exactly in the same boat
