Vaginal dryness, pain days after having sex?

I am a 22 year old woman. Lately starting about 2 or 3 weeks ago I began experiencing vaginal dryness while having sex with my boyfriend, normally I experience a lot of wetness during sex so this is strange for me. The last time we had sex I had been perfectly fine and then out of nowhere it was like I dried up and it began to become difficult to have sex but we kept trying. We eventually did get it in even though I was still experiencing the dryness. This was 7 days ago. I was experiencing some uncomfortable pain that pretty much went away but ever since then whenever I pee it hurts me really bad. Usually the pain happens when the pee comes out and I only feel it on like the left side. I don't want to say the left side of my vagina lip but more on the inner left area. I'm not familiar with the correct term. I think that would be the inner lips? Sometimes the pain is kind of lessening and I think it's going to go away. But now I've started my period and I use tampons and at almost like the tampon irritates it a little because now I'll go to the bathroom again and it hurts to pee again but inserting the tampon does not hurt.

you will have to find a lube that suits you when you have the dryness

Sometimes even at your age you might need lubrication before sex. You might also have a bout of cystitis where it will feel like a burning sensation when you pee, You will need a urine test from your GP to confirm this. There are lots of lubricants on the market, but if you have sensitive skin down below, I would suggest an oil based one with natural ingredients (Yes). Avoid perfumed soaps and thongs and use a sensitive washing powder for your briefs or wash in plain water they will still be clean. Tampons can irritate and scented sanitary towels and panty liners are a big no. If you have had energetic sex, as someone suggested it could be a friction burn but it is worth having that urine test from your GP. Hope this helps.
