I had surgery 3 weeks ago for a rectocele and cystocele with a hysterectomy, I have noticed while examining myself that I can't find my vaginal entrance 😣 there is no hole visable there is a a stitch that looks like it closes the entrance?? I feel like there is something wrong but it might be still swollen?? I'm not due to see my doctor till 8 weeks post op. I'm so worried about this has anyone else had this issue?? Thank you in advance for your response x

Your way to early to worry about what it looks like.swelling will make your vagina look like it's closed up.

If ideas you if not keep looking as the saying looks now won't be the finished look in another 6 wks time hun.

It takes months for all the swelling to go down. Stop looking and just rest lolxx

Thank you for your reply, I'm totally freaking out but I know I should try and wait it's just so difficult and it's all I think about. I'm only 29 and I'm worried that I'll not be able to have sex again.

      Thanks again

You will be able to resume sex it just takes a long time after such major op.

I am 16 wks from tvh and anterior repair and although I had text book surgery with no issues or much pain I refused to do anything for 6 wks due to doing any damage.

One word of advice throw away the mirror and don't look till your 12 week's. I've been there and it's hell.

The swelling will look like a prolapse. Rest up hunxx

It's lovely speaking to someone that has been through the same, it's been a bit of a tough recovery for me I had a catheter in for 2 weeks after surgery, but I'm starting to feel well in myself I've been walking everyday since catheter has been out. It's just such a slow recovery. Have you started back at work?

Yes, Cherylsari,  I had the same panic situation with swelling at the entrance and I sure thought it was a prolapse, too! I am now 12 weeks post op anterior and posterior repair  with urethra and hernia repair, and it is still there at  some degree or another if I over do a bit. I am really still in shock as to how long and intense this recovery really is. I just try to read these posts and remind myself I am not a wimp since most of us going through this recovery are finding it a long difficult journey both physically and mentally! Praying you find comfort in knowing lots of us have found just what you found when you looked and felt in there😄🙏🙏🙏

I'm around the same age as you & felt exactly the same!! After having 3 relatively easy & uncomplicated births I knew things had changed a little but I was totally unprepared for just how different it would be after the prolapse surgery when things were "restored"!! I felt like the surgeon had sewn me shut!! I had a 1 week post surgery check where he inserted a tiny speculum (to my surprise) & said everything looks great & he was very confident he hadn't made things too tight even though I felt like there was no way I'd be able to have sex again!! I will be having another visit with him in a couple of weeks, I can't wait for some more reassurance that things are looking good 😣 I totally dread that first time back in the sack but am so looking forward to having that connection with my husband again!! If you're going to have a peek or a poke do it with a grain of salt lol things are not going to look quite right for quite a while!! The new normal once everything settles will be better than prolapse I'm sure even if it is a little different ?

Thank you ladies I really was not prepared for this surgery and how worried about everything I would be.

My vagina looks like it's a war zone especially the surgery site but also the episiomtomy I had with my first and tear after second child.

I just hope I can have a some what normal sex life after this.
