Vaginal hysterectomy, anterior and posterior repair.

Hi all, I had my op on the 13th March. I went into hospital thinking
that it was going to be the anterior repair. On signing the consent
form I was made aware that should it be in my best interest other
procedures would be carried out which, in fact, happened. I'm now
9 weeks post op and still having a lot of dull ache. I'm taking things
steadily... walking, pelvic floor, doing very little in the house. My
follow up appointment is in two weeks time. Should I be feeling
a lot better at this stage?? ?? Comments welcomed....

I've only had a posterior repair but it was until up to 12 weeks or more before I started to feel more normal .
I still have a remaining cystocele that will need fixing at some point .
You've had a lot done . Internal tissues take up to 6-12 months to fully heal x

I would say at 9 weeks you are doing really well. You have had a lot done so continue to take it slowly & carefully (I know it's hard!)
Write down any questions for your doctor at your post op check just in case you forget. It can take months to fully recover.
Good luck.

Hi woodie. I had same as you but also a tvt last April. It took me till about 12 weeks before I started being able to do more. You really have to just listen to body and if in discomfort ease off. It's frustrating but hopefully worth it in the long run. Almost 13 months on I'm still having a few issues. Every time I try to do any exercise or lots of bending forward I experience pain just above and around the pubic bone. Consultant thinks it's muscular/ligament but not sure so he's referred me to orthopaedics and to have an MRI. It's annoying as I desperately want to get back on my bike as I've gain a stone since op. (But that's my story) I'm sure you'll be fine. X

Hi, thanks for replying. I've felt really miserable today. I'm ok
when walking or standing for a short time and then I get a
dull ache like I remember period pain to be. Also feel that
there is a slight 'leakage' when first sitting down. Am I expecting
too much at 9 weeks post op? Can you recall how you felt at
this stage? Xx
