Vaginal Hysterectomy & Anterior / Sacro Spinal Fixation

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi everyone, I'm 4wk 3days post vaginal hysterectomy with anterior repair and sacrifice spinal fixation. I'm getting lots of lower abdo pressure, and feel like everything is really tight & sore. They left my ovaries, but I'm getting left & right sided pain in that area. Has anyone else felt this ? Just not sure if it's normal. I've also got issues with BM's and pain at the end of passing urine.

Thanks

Sarah xx

I am having same issue as you with the BM's and having lot of bladder issues.  I had old method hysterectomy (meaning cut from one side to the other), they removed the uterus, ovaries and tubes.  I also have rectocele as result from the surgery that may entail more surgery.  I will be 6 weeks on Wednesday and having so many issues still.  I am thankful it was pre-cancerous and not cancerous but these complications are unreal!

Thank goodness it was pre-cancerous, these complications are horrid aren't they ggrr. I've only got my ovaries now and have horrendous period cramp pains, almost feels like my ovaries are being squeezed 😲. When I get up from sitting I have to straighten up really slowly, as it feels so so tight in my lower abdo area. I'm not experiencing much urge to open my bowels either, and have horrendous haemorrhoids now too. The pressure is awful front & back. Think I'd underestimated my surgery, & recovery etc. I'm struggling with hormones too, waiting to get started on HRT. Hope you feel better.

Due to the rectocele issue, they started my HRT back up earlier than they predicted in hopes it helps with the issue.  I was due to go back to work this week, but due to my issues the doctor has asked for extension, darn insurance company has not approved yet (for short term disability that I pay for).  So that is also stressing me out and causing more of my BM issues due to this.  I am usually super woman, but this surgery has kicked my butt!  Hope you feel better soon!
