Vaginal pain after possible contact with herpes

so my ex and I rekindled our relationship after six months apart. It's been nearly a month since we started seeing each other again--having intense sex almost constantly--when he got a call from a girl he slept with four months ago stating she has herpes.

now I am freaking out because I have been experiencing vaginal discomfort (noticed before he got the call) and last night examined myself carefully. I found what looks like a tear but i dont know if this is from the frequent intercourse (the last day was at least four times and I was nearing my period so i wasnt as wet as usual). I dont know if this is chaffing or something worse. but all the research I've

seen has said that herpes doesnt always present as blisters. currently waiting on bloodwork for boyfriend and trying not to lose my mind.

would appreciate any insight to calm my anxiety

it stings, most especially when i go to the bathroom. it hasnt been unbearable but i do understand herpes isnt necessarily for wveryone? im just wondering if anyone has ever seen lesions that look more like what i have (small tear/cut) vs blisters?

how long has that feeling been going on for? And how long has the cut been there for? It doesn't resemble clear cut herpes especially because theres no redness around the cut. It is just alarming since your bf got the call. If I was you, I'd get that cut swabbed at an urgent care asap

it started hurting about two days before he told me (July 2nd), as i was mid period i thought maybe yeast infection and planned to treat if i felt like it got worse, which it hasnt but just the general shock of the possibility has escalated my nerves. i didnt examine myself until 2 or 3 nights ago to see what was causing the stinging.

our city is still pretty tight under covid lockdown but i think youre right and l'll try to get in somewhere. i ordered an at home bloodtest for him which we did and sent back to the lab yesterday but it couldnt hurt to get immediately checked out as well. thank you!!!
