Vaginal problems!!

hello! I had unprotected sex a couple of weeks ago. A few days after having sex I had a burning feeling when I would pee. My partner told me he had two sores on his penis after having sex and some burning as well. Hearing that made me very nervous we both have something so I went to go see my doctor. She told me she thinks I have a STI and treated me anti biotics right then and there. She also took blood work and a urine sample for testing. After a few days I noticed my symptoms were not going away. The burning while peeing turned into a sharp stinging pain when I would try to pee it was so very painful and that lasted for a few days. I called my doctor back and told her I was not feeling any better so she checked on my results and ALL of my bloodwork came back negative. Negative for any UTI or STD or STI. She prescribed me some more antibiotics in case I did have some form of infection and she told me if it did not help still to go see a gyno or urologist. My partners blood work came out negative as well for everything. The stinging pain feels somewhat better but now it is burning bad in the vuvla and I’m having a hard time peeing. I have been so uncomfortable down there and have no clue what’s going on! Has this happened to any one else? Any advice? I was thinking yeast infection but I do not have any thick cottage cheese discharge and I’m not sure how a yeast infection would affect my ability to pee. I was also thinking BV but I do not have any oder or unusual discharge. Someone help pls!

Hi! A yeast infection can cause burning during urination (any inflammation or discomfort along the vulva will feel worse when acidic urine hits it) and discharge isn't guaranteed but common. Treatment for a yeast infection might help but getting checked by be a gyno or urologist would be best. Also, were you checked fir a UTU? You don't want to mess around with your uro-gyno health. Good luck!

hello! thank you for the response! I was checked for a UTI but my test came back negative. I also keep reading that a yeast infection has alot of itchhing? i dont have any itching but lots of pain and burning and now im having a hard time urinating for some reason it takes me a few minutes to get myself to start urinating. Im having a hard time getting into the gynos office due to the pandemic.

Itching is common but doesn't always happen. I was on a 6 month course of antibiotics two years ago and kept getting yeast infections (confirmed by my gyno) and most of the time i just had pain, only discharge and itch the first time. Usually internal and external pain, almost like I'd been scraped. There were times I even put an icepack on my vulva because the pain was so bad. OTC treatments helped but a prescription cream worked best to nip it in the bud whenever the pain started up again.

did your doc do any swabs? If not you can buy a pessary and cream for thrush. It may be worth a go. Sometimes there is no cheesy discharge. Your partner can use the Canesten cream on his penis as well. Make sure you use the pessary and cream as directed. Its essential that the pessary is used first.

Ive been having an issue thats somewhat similar. I orginally thought i had a UTI, and was treated for it with 3 different antibiotics as it was not going away, they then thought i may have a fungal UTI, was treated for that, felt slightly better but its back again, ive been dealing with this for weeks and its really frustrating. i was checked for everything and it all came back negative. i just constantly feel like i have to pee and just cant go. ive been with the same faithful partner for years, so i almost think its something else. i live in a small town and the urologist, is only open 2 times a week for minimal hours, so thats my next step, hopefully they can help.
