Vaginal vault repair help.

Hi. Anyone had a sacrosphinous fixation for vaginal vault repair. I am 2weeks post surgery and feel as if the prolapse is still there. Could this be possible? I have done exactly as I was told re lifting etc. My husband has been brilliant making sure I have been waited on hand and foot. Also I have a urine infection now! Not a happy bunny. Any advice please.

Hi there... I had SF but my womb stitched to the ligament rather than vault... if you search SF you'll see my many posts of despair! you'll see what a dreadful time I had in the early days... it will feel like there's something bearing down ... I thought mine had failed..it's actually the swelling and stitches ... I'm now 13 weeks and that feeling only went about week 8. Don't worry too much... just carry on being sensible and not lifting things.
Take care...

Thanks for that. Will try not to worry too much. This is my 3rd op and I don't want to have any more. Too stressful!

A lot of ladies post saying that they think the prolapse is still there and 95%+ it hasn't happened, it's just the swelling. While it is possible that a repair fails early what is normal is that the swelling and the body still recovering feels like you still have it. DO you have your post op appt soon?
Sorry to hear about your UTI. Not fun. I got a nasty bout of stomach flu from the kids 6 days post op and it was horrible, but at least short lived.

Hi Sandie
I felt exactly the same after the same surgery at 4 weeks. Lumps and bumps and all sorts. 7 weeks later I feel fantastic. Time and perience and keep resting. I didn't lift a finger for 6 weeks.

Hi Sandie. I had the vault repair plus anterior & posterior prolapse repairs 12 days ago. I'm very sore & extremely tired all the time. Sitting is VERY painful, though standing, walking & lying aren't too bad now. My hubby too is being brilliant & fussing over me all the time. I've found the advice & support on this forum invaluable - far better than anything I was told by my surgeon - which was practically nothing - or the hospital - which was just the text book version of recovery, you get the reality on here! I intend to listen to all the advice & continue taking things very easy - however frustrating it may be, I certainly don't want this surgery to fail! Good luck to you. x
