Vagisil for herpes??

So vagisil is very effective in calming the pain and itching on my vulva. The doc said not to use it cause it could make it worse! But it helped me sleep last night.
If i just use a lil bit before bed to help get to sleep is that so bad? It feels so good and i cant see or feel any noticeable worsening. Does anyone else use it?? And are there alternatives I should try???

I used the vagisil medicated wipes during my primary outbreak to keep everything clean. I wiped one time with each wipe and threw it away, as I didn't want to spread the infection around. It also helped relieve the burning. I wasn't necessarily itchy, but I was on fire down there. I have read that some people complain vagisil irritated them more, but it didn't affect me like that. Everyone is different.
If it is working for you, I don't see any reason to stop. If it does irritate you, just rinse it off with some water.

Can you get an initial outbreak without this intense pain and itching? I have a bunch of bumps but I suspect they are from shaving because there is no pain and I've had similar things before when I've shaved that area. It's just more intense this time but I have been shaving down there almost daily, and I did have a new sexual partner but have never seen or felt any bumps on his parts. They don't hurt. They don't look like blisters or lesions and some I've had for up to a week. Only pain I have is hair regrowth which is not in the area where the bumps are and I always get when the hair starts coming back in...I do have pain near my anal area but also been using the bathroom quite a bit and feels like it did when I had a tear or something back there and there is blood when I go. Vaginal bleeding that's been going on for probably 2 weeks but I am also new to birth control, which can cause break through bleeding, and am using antibiotics for a BV infection. I posted pictures of what I have but they dont' look anything like any pictures I've seen on the internet. No white pustule looking thing and no pain in these bumps...I can go about my daily activities just fine...
