Vague pain glans penis + other symptoms
Posted , 3 users are following.
So, I start of by saying I've posted this on multiple sites in the Netherlands, but I can't find anything or anyone who has quite the same problems as I have. I apologize for my English in advance, since it's not my native language.
The main problem: I have a vague pain in my glans penis whenever I press slightly on it or when there is some pressure on it. For example when I press with my finger on it or when I put my legs together (when sitting pulling my knees to each other). It is also triggered when I stroke really soft along it. I think it has to do something with the nerves in there, because when you stroke it, it obviously reacts to it with that "up and down reaction" of the entire penis, then I get that feeling/pain as well.
- It's not really pain, but more like really soft pain/stinging/ an irritation. it's not supposed to be there. I don't really know how to explain it.
- I only feel it on one side of the glans penis, the right side.
- And the odd part is: I can also feel that same "nerve feeling/pain" in my right leg when I trigger it myself (by pressing on it for example).
- Sometimes I can feel similar stings through the other parts of the glans penis.
Other symptoms I still have every now and then: pressing pain in my lower back, hip, groin. Not bad pain but just pressing pain. It comes and goes. Also peeing sometimes still feels warm/slightly burning.
It started about 2/3 months ago, I had what I think was a yeast infection on my glans penis. I got some cream to get rid of it. Yet I still had some symptoms. Peeing had a burning sensation and my penis was itching.
Now the first time I went to see the doctor I got some antibiotics for a week. He thought it was a urinary tract infection. After that week, it didn't got any better. I went back and the still thought about the same infection and prostatitis. After that the same antibiotics for 2 more weeks and the problems were almost gone.
The third visit and he said I have to wait three months before I need to come back. If the complaints haven't vanished by then. Now I have to say that the pain in my glans penis is less then it was before. But it's still there.
What can I do? Maybe masturbate less to give my penis some rest? I do that ones in every two days. Before I went to the doctor I did it every day. Sometimes even twice a day.
Does anyone have heard of this/have any experience with this? I really need to get rid of this.
All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi SA, your English is really quite good as I can fully understand the quite detailed explanation you have given. Thank you for the details!
I don't think simply taking the 'right' medication will sort this problem for you:
.
Essentially, from what you say you are experiencing the sensation of pain both in your penis (most often?) and sometimes in your right leg as well. In terms of pain, there is the sensation of pain - we may feel it in one location, but it can be caused by something happening to the nervous system in another location, or by a broader nervous system condition.
Here, sports people, or people who exercise frequently can experience these kinds of things, and people like top footballers have a whole team of support staff they can go along to who are complimentary or alternative therapists, for anything from a massage, to manipulating joints, tendons and specific muscle groups to alleviate problems such as you are experiencing.
The other kind of injury people often give themselves is when picking up a heavy load in the wrong manner and this can cause severe back pain. Occasionally, people will get clear injuries like this, but get a strange or unexpected reaction somewhere else in the body. The other typical form of pain is when we experience a direct pain caused by a specific issue, usually an accident such as trapping fingers in a door, or we cut ourselves - and we are very certain where the pain is located, because we have hurt ourselves there. There is of course location, but we feel the pain with our mind, it is both a physical and mental experience that we have.
.
So I wonder if you are a particularly active or sporting person? What I think you are going to need to do is take the broadest perspective possible on this and look at alternative treatments. In the UK we have quite a number of Chiropractors, for example that we can go to to get issues like this investigated. In addition, there are universities that have things like Sports Injury Clinics that give students doing Medical based or sports based training to be able to deal with the widest variety of issues like this that are not directly related to an actual physical injury. You do not have to have a direct sporting acquired injury to benefit from investigations at universities that do this training, you just need to know which ones they are and find a contact number. (You do not have to mention the pain in your penis if you wish, simply refer to the site of other senastions of pain that you have.)
.
The other thing you can look at is how your are dressed and what your posture is most frequently like. You say " when sitting pulling my knees to each other " - here the clothing you have on, and the posture you adopt can play a vital role. In terms of clothing, perhaps your genitals are too constricted in your entire groin region, and you particularly feel this when your legs have a particular posture. You could try different underwear to either give more support to your groin, or even looser fitting so that you are more comfortable sitting down, for example.
So when you mention masturbation, I don't think your problem is directly related to your penis, it is just the most frequent location of the pain. Yes, if you masturbate less you will experience the pain associated with it less - but this will not resolve the issue for you.
Perhaps you have Yoga or even Pilates sessions that you can go to near to where you live - and what these help with is not only the exercise in itself, but it can help deal with problem posture issues that may be at the root of what you are experiencing.
So, you have tried dealing with medical professionals and if you have had issues associated with yeast or UTI infections or even prostatitis, hopefully those physical issues will be resolved. You could of course have an underlying medical cause that is not currently diagnosed, so you may need to see a medical specialist such as a Urologist.
As I have detailed, it is when you speak of issues such as " pressing pain in my lower back, hip, groin " that makes me think that these are not usually associated with the conditions you have had treated - therefore, to find an overall solution to what you are experiencing you may need to look broader than a relatively simple condition of the penis. I have therefore detailed the broader things you will need to consider to find the solution to this .......

Hi, glad to hear you can understand me very well! And thanks for your response. I'm happy with a big response like this, especially because I'm always afraid it's something "terrible" just to say. But what I hear from you makes sense indeed, so it calms me down quite a bit!
About the pain, it's only on one side, the right side and it feels how I explained. By pressing on it or sometimes even by really softly stroking it and the other things I've said. Again, I have no idea how to explain the pain. It's not a big pain, I can live with I guess, but it's a small pain. It's not supposed to be there. Sometimes, when I try to trigger the pain, it only occurs after a multiple presses. So it's not always there right away. Why I do that? To see if it's still there and to see if it's less.
To answer your question if I sport: I do. At the moment I haven't tho for almost two months, since the football season has ended. I do have to say that I first noticed the pain was after football practice. But I also have to say it's really coincidental that I got also with the other complaints, where my doctor thought about an infection/prostatitis.
I was really stressed when I first discovered some red dots on my glans penis, because as I said, I'm always easily freaked out and I can easily assume the worst. So maybe that triggered it too?
Also, after my antibiotics were done, I felt that pain, very intense when I was peeing. But that was only for one day. It was very noticeable on the same side, but this time actually also through the entire glans penis. It felt like there was something inside, like an infection or something. But after a day that was gone.
One day I was masturbating and I felt a big stinging pain through my entire penis. That was also only for one day. Other complaints are slight stings through the back side of my testicles. And in the shaft of my penis. But those don't occur that often. Sorry for adding these later, because there are quite some symptoms. Some I even forget about.
Most complaints are gone indeed. But my doctor said I had to wait at least three months before I have to come back. And seeing an Urologist is not that easy since I have to go to the doctor first and they have to send me to one of them.
Can it have to do something with my pelvic floor muscles? I'm thinking to visit a physiotherapist that is a specialist in that.
Sorry for my long story again.

Oh and btw, when I have an erection and I press on it, the pain is not as noticeable as when it's half erect. It's the most noticeable when half erect/when starting to get an erection. When it's normal it looks more random when I can feel the pain. But it still can be triggered then.

So without doing a long response again, what you have is strange in the peculiar kind of way: no physician would likely give you a clear-cut explanation of what is going on. The 'cure' as such could be involved and include many factors, such as utilising alternative and complimentary therapies. And as you suggest, doing something like pelvic floor exercises - look up what is referred to as "Kegel Exercises for Men" - could be beneficial for you. But as I say if you look at doing things such as Yoga or Pilates, or by going to a Chiropractor or a Physiotherapist could be really helpful for you .......

Whatever you do, can you please update your Forum Post here in 6 weeks to 3 months time to say what is happening for you and what you have tried .....

I'll try to do that! Hope I don't forget. I'm getting sick in my head of this issue tho. It's something that's not supposed to be there and I think about it every second of the day.
Funny, because as of right now, I'm just sitting, not touching or pressing it whatsoever and it's all good. But when I start getting a erection or press on it it's back.. Anyway, I really hope it's nothing bad and it gets solved.

Anyone else has experience with this?

A small and quick update: I've contacted an online urologist and explained my problem. He said it's probably a remainder of the prostatitis I could have had. Because the prostate is recovering from it, I might still be able to have these symptoms. As he mentioned, the prostate heals really slow. It can last from a few weeks up to months.
Since I actually finished my cure 3 weeks ago, it makes sense what he is explaining. I'm still going to see a pelvic floor muscle physiotherapist. Just to be sure.

Update: I've been to a pelvic muscle physiotherapist (if that's the English word). I've have hypertonic pelvic muscles. So I hope that this is going to help.
I'm also using diclofenac at the moment, to relax my muscles there a bit.
Only one thing I'm still worried about: my orgasm isn't that nice anymore when I climax. The build up is good but when I cum it's just not that "rewarding" anymore. Even if I've not masturbated for one day. Is this also a problem that occurs with a hypertonic pelvic floor? I really hope it get's back to the nice and intense orgasm as it used to be. Especially since I've never had sex before.
