Could be a leaky valve, I had it and have had it repaired and feeling fine - yours may be a small leak and they may not need to repair it, try not to worry - if it was urgent I'm sure they would have had you straight back, not just tell you to make an appointment that you'll have to wait for. All the best, let us know how you get on.

Come back and tell us the result of your consultation. It could be many things and many go through life with defective valves that don't cause any problem.

I was speaking to a woman in her 40's who had been a profesional dancer who had been born with a faulty valve that had not affected her career. It was only found when she went to the doctor with a chest infection and he spotted if when he listened to her chest.

I had my aortic valve replaced four years ago and have a murmur and reguritation on my mitral valve that I'm told should never need surgery.
