Varicocele leads to depression/ED?

Back when I was in 9th grade football (about 8 years ago) guys in the locker room thought it was funny to go around and hit you right in the testicles from behind. One day someone hit me so hard I fell to the ground and sat there a while. The following year during our physical a doctor said I had a varicocele and that it wasn't to serious but I should get it checked. I was always to embarrassed to mention it so I let it go. Over the course of the 8 years it's been uncomfortable and I've started to lose my hair and I've lost a lot of my energy. I've had this theory that maybe this has caused low testosterone in me leading to my hair loss, low energy, depression etc. I'm 24 and I literally feel nothing sometimes physically down there and emotionally. Is there anyone that feels the same? I don't have insurance and I've already gone to the doctor before and got a pretty huge bill even though all they did was give me advice on how to stop the discomfort. I haven't seen a urologist but I'm wondering if anyone else has similar symptoms first.. and if you got it fixed did you feel better and have more energy afterwards??

Have you had a blood test to check your hormone levels. To me it sounds like your testicles were damaged or severely injured.

I am a xxy male, so my testicles never grew to normal size, they are atrophied or hazel nut sized. Since without hormone shots my testosterone level is 34, normal is over 200 to 600 to 900, depending on the individual. . My energy level was very low, I was always tired. Some depression. Less sex drive or none at all. Only a blood test can determine low testosterone. If you lived in the US, there is a program called medicaid, if you cannot afford any private medical insurance, but it is based on your income or there is OBamacare. Or check with your local community to see if there are non profits that can help with the tests.

. I don't know anything about the UK policies of medical care.

    Good luck.

    Hi ,

I have the same exact symptoms plus ED. It all started when the pain to my testicules started due to the varicocele. Went thru therapy, antidepressors but still feel the same. I want to get the surgery that fixes that since if it wasn't just the constant pain I just don't feel the same. Have you been felling better?
