Vasectomy with BPH

Like the title states, any issues or concerns getting a vasectomy with BPH?

I'm already on Tamsulosin and Finasteride and my semen volume is already low . But there is still enough volume to have a few swimmers I imagine.

Thanks!

The volume will be less after because you will only have the fluid from the prostate. You will not be connected any more. Your lucky that the 2 medications your on does not give you retro.

    Good luck Ken

Sperm only makes up 5% of your seminal volume. 20% comes from the prostate and the remaining largest portion comes from the seminal vesicle. So for most men having a vasectomy shows no real noticeable reduction in seminal volume.

Yes that is true to a point. Sperm comes from the seminal vesicle it is about 70 % of the volume. The other clear fluid comes from the prostate. My son-in-law had it done after there 3rd child. We have a good relationship so I ask him. He said that it feels the same and the volumes does change some because what comes out now is the fluid from the prostate.

If you have any procedure done on the prostate other then the Urolift. The volume will change when they start cutting away and most will have retro ejaculation.

Good luck with whatever you do......Ken

Thanks...it's not so much the volume of semen that is my concern as is any dangers of having the procedure after being diagnosed with BPH.

The only risk i've seen is a slight increase in the probability of getting prostate cancer but since 1 in 8 men will at some point get that diagnosis i think its not a high risk.
