Vaseline as a moisturizer?

Posted , 4 users are following.

It was recommended to me so I tried it after my bath last night - doesn't seem to help much, in fact, the area seems puffy and uncomfortable now.

I think I will switch to coconut oil.

Thanks.

I found petroleum jelly to be very drying so switched to coconut oil about a year ago. Apart from a few flare-ups, am managing. And so we battle on. Good luck.

When I was diagnosed 2 years ago, I didn't know anything but from various online groups, I realised I needed to moisturise. I started to use Vaseline before my next appointment with my GP. She said it can irritate and so prescribed Hydromol which looked exactly the same but she said was safer so I have used it ever since. I haven't had a flair up or suffered any pain since then. I would always recommend that you seek medical advice. Hope that helps.
