I'm a vegeterian, but wasnt when i got it, B12 deficiency can definetly make things worse as it affects your bodies immune system, i was recommended B12, B5 and vit C supplements, which I've been taking for a while, they hvent helped me, but they could well help you if thats your problem, it can be pretty expensive, it costs me £40 a month for these supplements which i take twice a day, but a small price to pay if it can help you

    all the best

I know this was originally posted 2 years ago, however I just came across it while trying to find out if my urticaria (just found out it has a name!) could be caused by a B12 deficiency. Yes, I am a vegetarian, but have been supplementing with B12 for many years. My symptoms also began before I became a vegetarian. They mainly started after taking oral contraceptives (the pill) which I later found out cause B vitamin deficiencies. Although I have been supplementing, I have had a child who nursed a lot, which would further reduce my B12 reserves while taking the \"mini pill\" (progesterone only pill). I had some strange and horrible symptoms which I was able to trace back to taking the pill, but didn't realize they were actually due to B12 deficiency. The itching started nearly a year ago after a miscarriage (yet another deficiency symptom) and haven't been able to determine a cause, until now! I hope this information helps. Perhaps someone out there is having strange things happen to them (optical migraines, anyone?) and can't quite figure out the cause. Doctors, of course, are of no help whatsoever.
