Venalfaxine - my whole body feels dead

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi there

I've been on 150 mg Venalfaxine for about a month but had really bad night sweats so my doctor decided to wean me off over 4 weeks.

I was on 112,5 mg for about 8 days when my entire body started feeling completely numb like when you go to the dentist. This is really very very scary- I can't feel anything. Has anyone experienced this? Will it get better? Been 10 days without any change. I have 4 days left on 37,5 mg before I will stop completely.

Please help!

Hi mari, u have reduced ur ven far too quick hence how u feel. It is recomended that u reduce really slowly by small amounts, hold at each reduction for up to 4 weeks or until u feel ok whichever comes sooner then do another cut.

Hope this helps and u r feeling a bit better by now?, if not u should increase ur ven again, even out and start again.

    Best wishes

      Hi Angela

Tx for your feedback. That's how my psychiatrist recommended I taper down. Seems this is a really terrible drug.

I've been 'clean' for 2 weeks now but still have no feeling in my body. Psychiatrist arranged for me to see a neurologist tomorrow. I feel really bad but at least the thick heavy feeling in my head and night sweats are slightly better.

I pray that I will get better soon.

Good luck to everyone struggling with these meds - personally I don't know why it hasn't been taken off the market.
