hello i was on venlafaxine for about 1.5 years and was on 300mg. about half way i started getting a symptom of extreme fatigue which would hit me and my body/mind would pretty much shutdown. i think this was side effects of the meds? because of this i came off (slowly over 6 months) and now been off for about 9/10 weeks. most symptoms have gone but i still get the extreme fatigue hit me and seems to be getting worse, i will leave the house for a few hours and when i get back i wont be able to do anything for the rest of the day because i will be so tired. its like my body will crash. i also have a lot of anxiety and derealisation. has anyone else had this problem?? i rang my doctor and they said it can't be the tablet because it is out of my system but this is the same GP that had never heard of the brain zaps as a side effect... if anyone can help would be appreciated as i am starting to worry.

wow i totally get what you mean. taking that med does have those side effects you listed. can you try another type?why were you taking it? maybe this is a clue to understand why your feeling these symptoms. our brains are complex and sometimes a chemical unbalance can be a struggle to find a better balance and feel well. it's similar to someone who had ripped the carpet out from under us and we can't get back up. it's a daily struggle.
i can only make suggestions from my own experiences i am not a doctor. check for low vit levels. b1 , b12, d, e, fish oil , minerals and a healthy diet. this is serious and dont give up , continue to ask your doctor for tests to help you get a diagnosis. you deserve to feel better. some doctors are good at gaslighting patients instead of digging in and finding solutions. sometimes depression alone can be debilitating left untreated . stress , life changes, other life changing issues can have severe effects on our physical and mental health. in many cases just to see a mental health counselor can help us cope with daily life and learn new coping skills one say at a time.

i was taking it for depression and anxiety and it worked but the tiredness was just too much. i have tried others such as sertraline, prozac, fluexotine and a few more cant remember the name but they all made me a lot more depressed almost suicidal so i had to stop. my depression is much more managable now so i could try again but im mainly concerned about the tiredness and if it will go away
