Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone out there can give me some info,I have been on 75mg venlafaxine for 2 weeks then increased it to 150mg 4 days ago, all in all I've had about 4 good days in the last 3 weeks, but now I find that anxiety is back and no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get the better of it, does this happen to anyone else? My emotions go from one extreme to the other, how long does it take to reach a happy medium? I just want to be like I was before, and every time I have a glimpse of my former self, I think to myself why did I worry about what I was thinking,it isn't real it's just depression and anxiety playing games, but then I start to feel a bit iffy and all the old thoughts and worries come back,it's like being in my own play battling with my inner self,I don't know if I'm losing my mind or I'm over sensitive,is there anyone else like me,I can't really say that I worry it's more that my thoughts really upset me then brings the anxiety on, sorry if I've prattled on a bit, or my blog doesn't make sense, just want to know if anyone else is the same xx

Give the increased dose time to work, say two to four weeks hopefully you will settle by then.
You can see your GP if things are not working then when you need a prescription refill

Thanks Bob, it's just frustrating waiting for it to work, also makes it worse because the last meds (sertraline) didn't work😥

Venlafaxine is one of the more stimulating antidepressants, which unfortunately means that the initial side effects include increased anxiety. If you find it unbearable, you could stay on 75 mg for a longer time (1-2 months) before increasing the dose.
Anyway, do not lose hope, this is a good drug and you will eventually get better, though it can take about 4-6 weeks.
