Hi Lynn. It is very rare for an antidepressant to take effect in just 2 weeks. It is usually at least 6 to 8 weeks to feel the optimum benefit. Hang in there; I know the waiting is hard but it's worth it to feel better.

How long did it take you to feel better, seeing my physchiatrist today . Don’t know if being a senior makes it harder

Took it one night and realized it didn’t work as well as Trazadone. Made me dizzy and I dn’t Need another drug in my body.

Also it would help a great deal if your doc could give you Xanax or Klonopin. That’s what’s getting me thru horrible morning anxiety. I’ve been on 75 mg for less than 3 weeks now.   Klonopin works better because it stays on your system longer than Xanax.

Good luck to you.  You are NOT alone by any means in this journey.

    Hi, lynn

6 to 8 weeks is what they tell you - in my case i just went, down, down, down for months before I felt any benefit. There was benefit - for maybe close to 2 years - then agitation.
