Hi, i don't have experience of that specific medication but I have just been prescribed zopiclone to counteract the side effects of citalopram. I was prescribed 7.5 mg. the first two times I took it I was awake again within 3 hours, (butter better than the 40 mins I was getting before, I had no trouble dropping off but couldn't stay asleep) out of sheer desperation for some rest I've been combining a zopiclone, lavender oil on the temples, a cup of camomile tea and a guided relaxation CD as I go to sleep. For the last few nights I've slept at least 7 hours! Not sure which part it is that's helping but i don't care as long as I get some sleep!

Hang in there! Good luck! Xx

Hi, I had the same problem with Venlafaxine I couldn't sleep at all, it's because they are not a sedative. So it becomes a vicious circle, I had to stop taking them in the end. The only way you would sleep taking the V.F is if you were to take two 7.5mg of Zopiclone tablets but it's not recommend and GPs won't prescribe this dose.
