Venlafaxine and sleep patterns

Started taking venlafaxine yesterday morning. Was worried about having nightmares but I wasnt asleep long enough to have nightmares so I needn't have worried.

I am a long term user of fluoxetine, recently changed to mirtazapine as fluoxetine no longer effective. Mirtazapine chosen because I wasnt sleeping. However weight gain on mirtazapine was so great changed to venlafaxine. Does anyone know if this restlessness and broken sleep pattern is likely to improve over the next few weeks?

I can defo help you with this I really really struggled with my sleep after coming off mitrazapine I was only sleeping 50mins some nights I just couldn't sleep I wasnt worried about anything. I would lie there awake all night this went on for 3 weeks n I hit rock bottom. I should defo of went too doctors much sooner. I googled insomnia n coming off mitrazapine on here n someone told me too take magnasium glycinate I've been taking them for around 4 weeks now and my sleeping is much better I'm sure that's what's helping me. The doctor also gave me a antihistamine if needed. Don't let it go on too long take care xxx
