Venlafaxine Changes

Have been on Venlafaxine immediate release tablets 2x75mg daily  for over a year. After horrendous side effects initially they have worked wonders for me. This month I have been changed to prolonged release capsules which apparently are exactly the same according to my GP but I feel horrendous. Shaky, sick & anxiety levels all over the place. I need my pill form back as the difference between Prolonged Release capsules are making me ill anyone else having issues with change.???

I got switched to the XR over a month ago and I’m still not feeling as good on this version. I was taking 37.5mg of IR twice a day and I’m taking the same dosage of the XR. Do you think this could be the reason? I was great on the IR, the best I’ve ever felt, so this has really got me down.  @purpledobermann or anyone else who can help.  Thank you.

Stephanie, as far as I'm concerned, from the past 2 weeks, it appears to Me, it is the reason we don't feel too good. I'm a patient too and I have been feeling bad since I was given XL because of the "Vanishing" IR ( i assume means instant release ? ) getting confused by the Initials , IR are these the slow release capsules? XL are slow release tablets. I have had a lot of symptoms, over anxious to the point of erratic behaviour, depression head feeling Fuzzy for want of a better word. All, since I was put on the "Substitute" XL. I have been told that there are now supplies of The IR at the pharmacy. Hope this helps. Back to your Doctor is my advice as you have been off the I R longer than me. Best wishes
