venlafaxine day 1

Hi everyone. I took my first dose today, 37.5 mg. I am taking it for severe anxiety and panic. The good news is that I didn't have my usual anxiety symptoms today. The bad news is that I feel awful. Very tired but wired. Kind of a drunk feeling. And when I try to rest I keep getting waves of adrenalin washing over me, like a zap. I'm also very jumpy. Do these sound normal, or a bit extreme? If you think they will go away in a few weeks, I will do my best to power through them.

I previously tried viibryd a few weeks ago and had the worst reaction of my life. I'm really hoping to not repeat the process.

Thanks for any help.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I am not sure about brain zaps while on meds. Could be from what you were on prior. I would call your doctor. 37.5 is a low dose not sure of immediate side effects. A health professional would know. Then again my psych nurse tells me my symptoms have nothing to do with coming of 300 mg after over 10 years. Cold turkey. Replaced with 35 mg of cymbalta. Anxiety and depression sucks. Are u on lorazepam or similar for panic attacks? The Effexor will even u out lorazepam will help for immediate antic attacks. Hope you feel better

Thanks for your reply. No, I'm not on anything else.

I know it's a super low dose. I'm really small (5 foot, 100 pounds) so I think the lower doses affect me a little more severely than a more regular sized person.

I just really hoping for some relief! I hope you are doing well too.
