My doctor increased my venlaxine xr dose from 150 mg daily to 225mg daily. it has been 2 weeks and I am still experiencing nausea, morning anxiety, and headaches. Am I just inpatient in wanting to feel better NOW? Does anyone else have experience with venlafaxine xr dose increases to 225mg and what you experienced?

    Hi Kim

i just increased my dose by 37.5mg (from 75mg to 112.5) 3 weeks ago. First 2 weeks morning anxiety. No nausea (try ginger and lemon tea -Twinings). No headaches. Still feel as though stress and moderate anxiety (worrying, intrusive thoughts and health anxiety) not "covered" as it used to be. That being said, I have been on effexor x 75mg for close to 10 years and it has been till now best AD I have been on for anxiety. Stick with it if you can. It is wonderful. My case may be "poop-out" which I did experience on zoloft and paxil after 3-5 years. Or it may not be and it may be perimenopausal anxiety from hormone fluctuations (I am 50 and not taking HRT). Good luck and post how you go.
