Venlafaxine heartburn

I've been taking Venlafaxine for 6 days now. 37.5mg tablets, one on the morning, one in the evening. On day 3 I started experiencing awful heartburn. Like acid coming up my throat, a burning sensation in my chest and stomach and epigastric pain; nothing helped settle this.

Since then, I've been having a lot of pain but didn't skipped 2 doses (evening and morning on day 5) and now feel much better but still have some discomfort.

I'm a bit stuck now thought because I tried Sertraline initially and after 3 weeks also experienced this severe heartburn and my doctor told me to stop and switch to venlafaxine. The same thing is basically happening so I'm really worried nothing will work as all the antidepressants affect serotonin.

Has anyone else had this experience and if so, does the pain go away?

My depression is really taking its toll on me and I'd really love for something to take the edge off.

Thanks
