Venlafaxine nightmare

I've not used this site before, but I need to find out if anyone is struggling in the same way as I am. I've been on 300/day of VF for a few months. It wasn't too bad to start with but now it's a nightmare. I'm severely anxious, depressed, panicky, irritable, moody, angry, lethargic, negative...I get brain zaps, dry mouth, all sorts. I've also put on a lot of weight. It's getting worse each day and I wondered if anyone has any advice as I'm scared. Thanks in advance.

My experience with venlafazine has been just the opposite to ours. I hav been taking 300 mg venlafaxine wnd15 mgmirtazapine since July 2015. I know media can hav different affects on different people, but I am happier and sleeping better than I have in years. I take the time release capsules. Have you talked to your doctor about the problems you're having? Maybe you need a different dosage or a different med that will work for you. I have my life back thanks to these meds. I hope you will soo find a solution. Please let us know how you're doing. This forum is a great place to talk to others who understand.

    Take care,

    Phyllis

If your dosage was prescribed by a GP please ask for a referral to psychiatrist. If you are already monitored by a psychiatrist, speak to them. It sounds like the dosage needs tweaking or you need a different drug or a combination of drugs. Are you taking anything else besides ven? (supplements, alcohol, other medications including any OTC etc)

Please talk to your doctor if its got you scared.

It sounds like withdrawl not side effects from beginning VF
