Verapamil cluster headaches

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have been experiencing cluster headaches since I was about 16 years old. I am now 30. I also am on verapimil. Currently I am in a cycle that has not beem interrupted in about 9 months. Aside from the verapimil, which my doctor is uping the dosage, I also take imitrex injections as I need them. The verapimil seems to be helping with not only the severity of me headaches, but also with their frequency. I sure hope the larger dosage will get a better grasp on them.

    hi,

i was diagnoised last year with cluster headaches, after suffering them for 4 years and been told they are stress headaches. I was first prescribed Sumatriptan Succinate injections, these where excellent. when the headache came on i injected myself and 10mins later back to normal. BUT last year i was suffering them 5 times a day and under the NHS they couldn't prescribe me enough.

I was then put on verapmil and take 2 120mg tablets a day and i have never felt better. Not a headache since, the only down side is i am suffer a side effect, but compared to the headaches i don't care.
