Hi there it’s now been six weeks of this vertigo been to docs a few times they say they think it labyrinthitis however you spell it because it started after a cold  it felt like it was beginning to get a little better as it wasn’t there all day long but last four days it’s there again all day . It’s really upsetting me as intefying with my life it’s a scary feeling  . Does this happen with it when it’s getting better that it feels like it going then comes back again. I’m expecting it to just go over night  thank you Helen x

I also had the dizziness and vertigo since right after Christmas. it started with stomach flu and didn't go away. I went to the emergency because my problem was a more imbalance and I was scared. At the hospital, they did a cat scan and monitored my heart and all came out fine. Diagnosed s as BPVD.lt got a little better but still, I wanted it to go away and it finally did, Completely.  Then a few weeks ago it came back, not as bad as the first time but still scares me. I think it will eventually go away for you but be patient and try not to let it take over your life as i did. I have tried meditation and just relaxing and it helps. Hope you are feeling better soon. Let me know how you are feeling.

Was it the crystals dislodged?  Mine started out of the blue and I was so sick that I ended up in the hospital twice.   Inner ear viral infection is what I’m told

I have been to two specialist and they keep saying 3-6 months and you will be over it.  August will be 2 years battling this everyday.   Mine is like you are in a boat and sometimes the waves get bigger than other times but always moving.   If your is the crystals there are daily exercises you can do to help prevent it from happening.  You may want to check them out and give it a try anyway to see if they help.   It didn’t me but a lot of people get relief from it on a daily basis.   Sorry I am the bad news bear but reality has hit me!   I am 54 and unable to work because of it!  I pray you are one of the quick healing!!

If they refer you to an ENT request a VNG specifically the caloric test, and VEMP test.
