Vertigo and Fatigue won't go away, what to do?

I'm writing on behalf of my partner, who took anti-malarial medication while in the Philippines three weeks ago. A few days into taking the medication, he had severe muscle spasms/seizures, shortness of breath, and extreme vertigo. He got an emergency flight home and had an MRI which revealed he had a viral inner ear infection which had caused build up of fluid in the inner ear. We have done the Epley maneuver multiple times and it helped a lot with his vertigo. But it's three weeks later and he has extreme fatigue and lingering dizziness that makes driving and normal activities very challenging. He was prescribed Dramamine which has little to no effect.
Is there anything else that can be done to hasten healing or lessen the symptoms? Or is this simply a wait it out situation?
Thanks.

an inner ear infection can take a long time to clear up. Serc, a medication to treat inner ear disorders might help. You should talk to your doc. Also do some vestibular rehab exercises, there are a lot on the internet. Good luck.

I suffer from vertigo that I just found out can come back. I had it for over a year back in 2017. I had every test known to medicine...saw ENT for a lot of them & had some tests twice because it wasn't going away. I even had an MRI to rule out a tumor. I went to the first neurologist ...a REAL dud!!!
He and his staff were shockingly rude. I took the vertigo medication he prescribed. I didn't like how I felt and stopped taking them. I left & never went back. I then went to an Emory neurologist who was great. I had more tests and he couldn't find anything
wrong. His office was in an Emory facility so there was a therapist there he sent me to. She was really good. She showed me how to do certain exercises & gave me print outs to take home and do them there. I did and it went away...it might have taken a month or 2...I don't remember...it wasn't a year or
or 6 months ...It came back about 1-1/2 years later...I have it now...I am not ever dysfunctional. The world doesn't spin...inside my head is off-balance is spinny/dizzy. I can drive & it is not a bother when I do...I actually feel more normal. I think mine came on initially & also this 2nd time, from stress. The only thing that helps is doing the exercises from the therapist at Emory. Good luck to you! I would highly recommend an appropriate balance therapist who works with people to regain their equilibrium, mine takes insurance & medicare.
