Vertigo and tired

Hello, my name is Delilah

Were to start. I have had inner ear problems since i was a child and its progressively got worse. I was diagnosed with Meneiers disease about 5 years ago and told i have probably had it since a child. I have had balance issues my whole life and just been known to be the (clumsy girl). My Vertigo has continued to get extremely worse throughout the years to the point i feel defeated, tired, fatigue, and really just not here. Is this normal? I have had tubes in my ears more than i can count which provide temp relief however my ears reject the tubes. I have deformed eustachian tubes. The next step doc want to stretch my eustachian tube with a balloon type surgery. Eustachian plasty has anyone had this done and any results? Thank you

Hi Delilah.  Have you ever been prescribed betahistine?  In U.K. that is the standard treatment and is very successful for most Meniere’s sufferers although not all. I am on 24mg x 3 times per day and so far no vertigo attacks and tinnitus is quiet. I also have sinus issues caused by allergies, the main one being dairy so I avoid that as much as possible. Like everyone else on this site I follow a low salt diet too. If you haven’t tried this maybe that’s something you could do before the surgery. I’ve never heard of that before.  I have a deviated septum which is another factor in the sinus issues which could be resolved with surgery but I’d rather avoid that. Do you practice balance exercises?  I know there are plenty of those on the internet. It’s very hard to motivate yourself when suffering lack os sleep and feeling tired all the time. Meniere’s can be very isolating. I hope this latest round of surgery helps you.

I have not tried bethahistine. I have done OT. I practice balance exercises. My eustachian surgery did not get approved by my insurance because its an experimental surgery. But im gunna have tubes in which i get done once a year.
