vertigo & other symptoms.

hi, i’m 21 years old and have been having some issues with my neck and head area for a few months or so.

at first, it was alot of pressure in my neck accompanied by dizziness. i went and seen a chiropractor & it helped a little. i’ve been seeing him every week.

i had an mri and ct scan done of my neck & head, & only answers i’ve been given are that i have a straight neck with no curve, & two slightly bulging discs in my spine.

the part that freaks me out, is that sometimes i feel like i seize up or something for just a couple seconds than it stops. i can’t even explain the feeling. my head gets super shaky & so does my neck. i’m wondering if maybe it’s a pinched nerve. i really don’t get it. i also have spots in my vision most of the day but no doctors can figure out why. i’ve noticed my symptoms get worse later at night than in the morning. i also have ringing in my ears sometimes, & a buzzing/full feeling in my ears alot of the time.

i don’t know what to do. i’ve been to so many doctors, & they haven’t done anything. i’ve seen a neurosurgeon, but he wasn’t any help at all. my mri of my head came up clear. wouldn’t that show seizure activity? so if it’s not a seizure, WHAT IS IT!? 😔 i’m so over feeling like this. i now have vertigo as well.

my neck and head start to feel heavy alot of the time. almost like my neck isn’t wanting to hold my head anymore. sounds dumb, but it’s true. i have two kids, this makes it so hard to do anything with them. 😔 everytime i bend down or get up, i get super light headed. i’ve also had alot of brain fog

Hi Chelsie, sorry to hear about your problems, the most scary thing about it is that no professional seems to be able to diagnose you eh. I’ve had similar experiences, at the beginning of December I kept having pressure and tinnitus in my ears but go said they were clear the one day I got so dizzy and could not put pressure on my head I started to be sick for hours, I went to a&e and they thought migraine sent me home with antiemetics. I had this for up to a week after a&e then the dizziness started to subside. However I was left with this pressure at the base of my scull where if I lay down I would feel sick. My neck would feel heavy as though it struggled to carry my head, I returned to a&e again and was sent home with diazepam they thought it was anxiety, how infuriating eh. My go sent me for ct scan of head and it was ok, I’m still waiting for ent appointment, I went for two sessions of physio privately and acupuncture but diddnt find it helpful. So I heard great reviews about a man who is an osteomyologist he deals with nerves and the musculeatal system, so I went for an app with him and he said my trapezius muscle is in spasm causing my problems. He worked on me and the pressure in my head subsided a bit but the neck pain felt worse. I returned to him for a second session not even a week later as I could not stand the pain and he said my muscle had went back into spasm. He again worked on me and I feel worse than ever I now have a pressure in my throat where if I to itch it I think I could be sick, my neck aches like hell, my go referred me for X-ray of neck the other day but I neeed to wait a week for results. Do currently I’m taking diazepam st night to relax the muscle which does help a bit. But I’m at a loss st what else I can do, like you I have a kid and I feel my life is on hold, I’m due to finish my final year of nursing in September and doubt I’ll manage. Had your go prescribed you anything that has helped? What are your next steps? Xx

i haven’t been prescribed anything.. they gave me muscle relaxers but i won’t take them. i’m tired enough, & with my babies, i can’t be even more sleepy. sad my next step is a neurologist. i want to see what they would have to say. my neck has never done this, & it started out of nowhere. there’s definitely something going on. so sorry you’re having scary symptoms too! it literally takes the fun out of your life 😔

Hi. I had all of your symptoms with an auto immune disease. Went undiagnosed until my early 40s. Treatment since then has thankfully put me into a kind of remission but at the height of symptoms I felt awful and had to give up my job. Miserable. And like you I went to doctor after doctor and no one could diagnose what was going on. Finally diagnosed by an immunologist. Ask for blood tests which look at ana esr and crp see if it throws up anything interesting. Make sure you have a full blood panel for all the usual stuff they do as well like thyroid liver function b12 etc.

do you have any digestion issues like IBS,Gastritis, low functioning gb or gallstones or gallbladder removed ?

they’ve never checked... but everytime they do a blood test or anything, it comes up normal. i have been having some issues with my stomach and stuff, but i figured that’s my anxiety.

blood work does not show any of these issues. Only hIDA scan or ultrasound shows any issues with gallbladder and endoscopy/colonoscopy for gastritis/IBS

could that cause all of this though? i have tremors in my neck and jaw ever since this stuff has started. it all got worse after i fell off my front step and hit my head pretty good.
