Vertigo when driving

Hey everyone,

I am 47 years of age and i have been experiencing vertigo set off mostly by driving for the past 3-4 years. In the beggining i was so scared and didnt know wbat it could be i went to the doctor and made me a check up and they said i was fine. Alnost everytime i drive it sets off especially when i get on the high way and i get very anxious and feel like i will pass out i am very mad that i have to go through this and at the same time even scared to go to work it sucks a lot to live like this. There was times when i didnt have it but for some reason i am experiencing it now but it cameback a bit stronger this time. I have been experiencing this for pretty long even one time when i barely started with this i literally had to sit on the floor and called my wife becajse i felt something bad was going to happen thats when i went to the doc but they gave me no answers. Does anyone have the same symptoms? This sjcks if anyone has some advice i would highly appreciate it.Thank you.

    I've suffered with vertigo for 4years and I'm the other way around it's not there when I drive this is really strange been through all the consultants and no1knows what's wrong and told me I gotta live with it I feel like a recluise I very rarely go outside the door but if I drive it goes hope you get answers it's a good forum

      It ia actually happens sometimes randomly not only when im driving but i noticed it gets triggered mostly when i drove if i stay home i feel ok but if i drive it sets it off really bad the other night i stood up and danced and it triggered it so i really dont know, i hope you get better btw at least im not alone

    Need to see a neurotologist. They specialize in these problems. Get all the good tests. VNG, etc.

    Hi Eduardo, just wondering if u ever got an answer to your problem because i have the exact same thing!!! It all started a few months ago, i went for 2 MRIs for a dif matter and since then i have been extremely fog brained. It happens worse when i try to drive on the hwy!! Ne help would b appreciated.

      hey there sheila no not yet im still experiencing the same thing it is not too baa anymore half a year ago it go bad but it seems to have calmed down but i still have these problems and i honestly stopped going to the doc cause i get no answers they say im fine i will go back and keep seeking for help how are you doing? KNow anything yet?

      Hi Eduardo, im still the same , so weird. Ya docs keep telling me im fine too but im not! Still cant drive very far. The only thing that i have read about that sounds close is vertical heterophoria, its a problem with your eyes but only a specialist can diagnose it so im getting an appointment with an opthamologist and i will see what they say. Fingers crossed! I will keep u posted! Thk u so much for answering me and im glad u have gotten better somewhat.

    Hi Eduardo, just got results back from hearing and balance test everything was normal. Still waiting for the eye appointment. Im so frustrated which im sure u understand because i still have it too. Still cant drive very far and i take gravol every other day which seems to help a bit. I will let u know once i see eye doc, takes so long to get appoinment.

    Talk soon i hope, stay positive we r not crazy!! Lol
