vertigo whilst asleep

During the night i awoke screaming for it to stop, couldnt control or stop the movement very frightning, has happened when awake before. but as soon as it settled went straight back to sleep.

    Hi Margaret! 

    I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Do you have BPPV? This used to happen to me and I found that rolling onto my stomach and closing my eyes helped it go away faster.

      Thank you for your reply. I do suffer from BPPV, problem was i was in a deep sleep, my poor husband didnt know what was happening, but  will make sure hes armed with this information. Thank you again.

    My colleague below has a vaild point.  To clarify, do you wake with vertigo from a specific position or movement?  How do you lie down when you go to sleep?  Do you avoid a specific position or movement when you lie down?  When awake, do you lie down also, or is wakefulness associated with another specific trigger, or no trigger?

      Thank you for your reply, i am at a loss as to what triggered it as i was sleep. I didnt wake as far as i am aware, but my husband said i was sceaming for him to make it stop.Have been suffering a lot of headaches lately, i also suffer from CMT, also have had BPPV before. But as you say could be posture.Thank you anyway for taking the trouble to reply.
