Very Concerned

Hi everyone. I'm a 22 year old male, and recently been referred to a GI specialist due to on and off symptoms. Abdominal discomfort on the right and occasional pain on the same side. Get the feeling I can't burp on some days and that really annoys me. Have a tongue coating with mucus at the back of throat most days. But my main worry at the moment is blood on tissue after I wipe always right towards the end, had it threw out the year maybe a day here or a day there but this time it's been a straight week, today my BM was normal in consistency put still the blood. very worried to why this is sad the specialist has done a celiac blood test, ultrasound on upper abdomen which at the time she said there's nothing she sees that is abnormal and will send the results to my doctor for him to go over it. Also did a stool sample, did all these test 3 weeks ago and not heard off them yet. The blood on the tissue is really getting to me though

Did she also do a colonoscopy?

Monday, I would telephone your GP and request the test results...also mention the blood.

First off, please bear in mind any opinions given here have no medical foundation at all, we are not trained- your medical tean are the people to get facts from. Having said that, you seem to be getting medical advice, and I'd say that I'm pretty sure that if you had those tests 3 weeks ago, with no phone call for a follow up appt, the chances are there is nothing abnormal there.  Have your docs given you no idea about possible causes- piles for instance? If not, I'd get another appt and go armed with a list of questions.

Just received a letter for my results ... " I am please to report that his coeliac serology is negative, ultrasound scan has shown normal structures in the liver and the gallbladder is normal with no stones. His faecal calprotectin is 55 ruling out any suggestion of severe inflammatory bowel disease." " i will review him in my outpatients clinic, review his symptoms, treatment options and further investigations if appropriate and indicates."
