VERY concerned about pancreatic cancer - 25 yo male

Hi all,

Since May, I have been very concerned that I have something terminally wrong and symptoms since August appear to suggest it is pancreas related. I'm using this forum today to hope gather how concerned I should be as I understand that although not impossible, it is very rare to have pancreatic cancer at my age (no family history of it).

My symptoms started in May with significant pain in the upper abdomen for a few hours. This then went away but I have had this recur around every two months since.

Since August, I have had mid back ache on the left hand side with developing ache under the left rib. In addition my stomach now makes significant more noises than it used to and my bowel movements are varying (e.g. floating, maybe once every 2 - 3 weeks abnormally large) although the colour is normal. In the last month, I have now been also feeling this ache on the right hand side under my rib also and back ache in this area also. In addition I now feel occasional ache in the upper back left and right also. Furthermore I have lost around 3/4 of a stone in the last few months despite a high fat diet./

I have been to see the doctor on this an incredible amount of times in the time between with blood tests only showing a high WBC (having had CA19 blood test as well as amylase/lipase ) and an endoscopy, colonoscopy and abdominal MRI of the pancreas showing nothing abnormal.

I asked my doctor to take a second look at the abdominal MRI as it was not an MRCP and he assured me that there was a setting on the MRI machine to look at the pancreas and that this was as reliable if not more reliable method of looking at the pancreas as a CT scan. He looked at it himself noting that there were good views of the pancreas and nothing abnormal noted.

I have a CT scan booked within the next month however as I believe I will still need 5 weeks before finding out a result from this, I was hoping to find out more beforehand as I am now on the verge of a mental breakdown after months of this.

Thank you for your help on this in advance.

James
