Very discouraged.

I am 3 months post op for rectocele, cystocele and hysterectomy. It has been a very rough recovery. I still have a lot of back and pelvic pain. I have been doing physical therapy for about a month but has given no relief, in fact it is just as bad if not worse. The pain gets worse as the day goes on and by night time, I am climbing the walls. I can't remember the last time I have slept an entire night. Physical therapist suggested I call the doctor last week and I have an appointment this afternoon. Nervous as to what she is going to say....

Hi Lori, so sorry to hear that your recovery is tough...and probably pretty normal, unfortunately.  My eurogynecologist said I would be fine in 6 weeks and I say HAHAHA to that.  Not so.  After 4 months I was still in discomfort and then my husband suffered a major collapse, was on life support and hospitalized for 4 weeks after that.  He is now super well and I have another prolapse.  Suffice it to say I was on my feet for an entire month at the hospital and so the healing could not complete.  Today I refuse another surgery and will live with a pessary for ever, if I can.

What I am trying to say is that recovery takes a very long time so don't worry, be patient and kind with yourself and let time do its work.

From one patient to another - hang in there.

I am so sorry for all you have been through. Sounds like a nightmare! I am glad things are getting better!

I went to the doctor yesterday and she has no idea why my back is so bad. I do have a small bladder prolapse but she is okay with it for now, just watch it to see if it gets bigger. She thinks my bladder pain is still normal for this stage of recovery. Sending me for an MRI of my back but can't get in until after Christmas. So, no answers yesterday and no relief....

So sorry to hear you are still having alot of pain and discomfort lori, hopefully your doctor will be able to help.

I had been doing really well until my work had me on my feet for full shift and they had done this on more than one occasion resulting in eventually suffering new pain, I seemed to stiffen up after sitting for rest and could barely walk.

My GP had put me on 'estriol' a month or two before this due to scar tissue and I had had a break from it so maybe I was missing the estriol.

Been back on estriol for a few weeks now and resting more again. Work too has been careful not to leave me on my feet for too long so all going well. But just not as active as I would normally be.

Hope you get it all sorted,

    Phyl x💖
