Very dry skin

Posted , 11 users are following.

Hi, don't know if anyone has covered this but I have exceptionally dry skin

and have had for a few years. On my hands the skin keeps breaking open

and I am getting sore patches on different parts of my body. Now my legs are

very itchy.

Has anybody got any remedies. Fed up with it, its making me miserable on

top of everything else (doctor useless).

Exactly the same Crosado I am finding it hard to do stuff with

these thumbs and they hurt like hell!

I wear rubber gloves to wash up and for preparing veg etc, its

not doing a lot of good. Sorry you are suffering too. I just don't

know what to do about it.

      All my best to you

I suffer with it alot when really bad I buy the plastic throw away gloves from walmart and those laytex free bandaids. Can you put that coconut oil on your face with menopause acne? My face feels like sand paper thats how dry! What I cant figure out is how the heck can it be DRY and have the hormonal acne too?

Just rub it a little bit like cream. It's natural and no chemical. Do it at list for 2 weeks but I'm sure you'll see the difference in a week time.

Good luck and let us know if you are better.

      Blessings.

The coconut oil helps my legs. I'm always washing my hands so not a lot I can do there. I try to remember to wash them in cold water as much as possible though.

I suffered badly with this. Now I take Omega 7 sea buckthorn oil and cod liver oil and it has really helped my hands

I've had a nightmare with my hands splitting open too. Tried loads of hand creams, emollients, etc and nothing worked then a pharmacist worked out that I was allergic to liquid paraffin which is in the majority of the skin creams. I have now started using Aveeno Skin Relief Hand cream (which doesn't contain liquid paraffin) and it has made a huge difference.  Also found out that I seem to be allergic to latex which is in the rubber gloves I used for washing up so have switched to latex free ones which has also helped.

When I used Retin A I got super dry flaky skin and my dermatologist recommended moisturizers with ceramides. Maybe you can find a sample size of one to try. My grandmother swore by baby oil, even on her face at night. She had beautiful skin.

I have had the very dry skin but found out it was due to lack of vitamin D. I am taking 2000 mgs of vitamin D daily and also use eucerin lotion or eucerin cream. It works wonderful. I hope you find relief soon.
