Very early thr advice

hi,
I had left THR just 4 days ago so know its very early and years ago would probably still be in hospital instead of typing this from home. Not expecting miracles but there is an incredible amount of stiffness at the site as well as top of thigh and groin. when I stretch leg out whilst sat there's a weird sensation of something rubbing down the outside of hip . I have tried to do a bit of both but would anyone be trying to use it more or do more rest? just wondered what early days should feel like?

your probably experiencing the early days now. give it time , take pain meds and stay ahead if the pain. one day at a time. follow what your docs said and eat good meals. you need extra calories to heal. take your vitamins to help bone health and heal.
i have had 3 THR surgeries over time and each one was different. dont rush healing or exercises. all hips need to heal is just walking. using all the muscles that will strengthen as your body heals.
plain ole fashioned walking .
sending good healing vibes your way.

The general advice I believe is that if pain is getting worse then talk to a doctor, otherwise expect all sorts of weirdness for a while. My operated leg blew up to twice the size of my other leg. But if you're worried, speak to your doctor anyway.
As for whether to rest or exercise more, just do the exercises you've been given. I made the mistake after a couple of weeks of pushing myself too hard and I suffered for it. After a telling off from my physio I just stuck to what he'd given me and felt better. Good luck!

Thanks both i have only just seen these replies. Now nearly 3 weeks in getting about more even using just 1 crutch round house. Definitely more movement. Correct about the weird feelings today is like someone has taken a 20 yard run up and kicked me in the backside so have to sit on the other but cheek. Quad not as bad but niggle groin pain going on. like you say not gonna rush to get on my exercise bike stick to walking and my basic exercises until I see physio o 18th. Thanks again!!

A continuation of the weird feelings. Best way I can describe is a clunky feeling when walking or swinging/stretching leg like a muscle or tendon over a bone or something? Want to believe this is nothing serious and just early healing stuff. Anyway as I said will see physio on 18th and mention there. just thought I'd see if anyone had anything similar?
