hello I'm 36 y male. I have been very sick for 6 months. I have got a sever POTS symptoms which are " jump in the heart rate to 120 or more with standing, weakness, sever fatigue, tingling in legs and hand, dizziness.and PACs extra heart beat"But what makes me crazy is that spike in my BP with standing. When lay down my BP is 125/85 but with standing up it flays to 140/110 or some time more. My diastolic always stay over 100 when I'm standing and immediately drop down to 8-89 when I lay down. I feel also strange feeling like I have a adrenaline rush it is like internal shaky and anxiety . I'm going to see endocrinologist but I'm scared from conn's syndrome. I visited many cardiologists they made all heart tests which come back normal .

is there any one have this BP jump with standing?? Is it fatal and how it can be treated?? My BP is go high only the diastolic this make me crazy.

These all sound like the symptoms of POTS.

However, I do have to say that any activity, including standing or walking will increase blood pressure, that is normal, even for people without blood pressure problems. This is why you should take your blood pressure when you are sitting and relaxed, no GP will ever test your BP when you are standing or moving around.

Try not to worry, it does sound as though you are over anxious and probably constantly checking your blood pressure with every little activity. Expecting something bad to happen any time you see an increase, it wont, and all that worry will increase your BP making you feel even more anxious. While your blood pressure is not ideal, it is not extreme, and that it is nearly normal when you are sitting is very good; many with high blood pressure would love to see 125/85 when sitting or lying down.

You need to discuss your anxiety with your doctor who should be able to put your mind at rest.

Hi Ahb . I have very similar probs to yourself. Severe palps and high bp and i have been told that a lot pf it IS anxiety related etc. Vicious circle , in that the more you are aware of your problem the more you panic and this temporarily raises bp.(even diastolic). Try to not worry about the temporary raises in bp ok? Best wishes !
