Hey I had my baby Saturday I was induced it was very fast and everything went perfect after I was told I was at risk of dvt and had to take 7 days worth of injections in my tummy well I have health anxiety and no way can I inject my stomach so was told to inject my leg instead before I went into labour I had green phelm and still do now accept now today I had like a tiny blood clot looking thing mixed in like a little lump of dark blood I had coughed up it was just lieing in the green phelm .

I had midwife earlier who asked if I had any signs of dvt I said no as my legs are not swollen ect and I'm wearing stockings still the reason been for me risk of blood clot is apparently because It's my third child and also because I'm a smoker I feel so out of it tonight because of coughing up this thing I have had a bit of chest ache and sharp pricks in my ribs but my breath have filled and I put it down to that as it's basically like carrying two bricks around could I have a dvt I Googled I'm in tears because health anxiety is ruining my life I want this to be a happy time yet here I am worried !

I read on Google dvt can start in your pelvic well since giving birth I've had very bad pelvic pain which was put down to after birth pains I don't know what to do I don't want to waste hospital or doctors times when it's so bad here now with stikes ect I do get breathless but I always have since having health anxiety it seems to be naturally out of breath now 😭 I know I need help for my health anxiety but does this sound like a possible dvt ?

Hi Stephx, I don't know if you have a pulmonary embolism or not but I would certainly go to the doctor of hospital to have it checked out. My son had a pulmonary embolism and had pain in his back, higher up. You have 3 children to look after so you must look after yourself. Nothing worse than worrying there is something wrong. Go and find out and don't worry about being a nuisance, better safe than sorry.

I totally agree with Jane, you need to get checked immediately for a DVT and PE clots, especially if you are experiencing shortness of breath. Exactly the same symptoms i had as was told how luckily i was that i didnt ignore the symptons. Better safe than sorry.

    Hi Steph

Hope you go to see somebody without delay. And you're not wasting anybody's time; medical profession much happier if you are proactive and don't ignore signs that there may be a problem. All it is is a quick scan and you will know.

Sending you best wishes that all will be ok.
