Very sore bottom, Burning feeling

For the last few months i have been suffering with a sore bottom, I have tried various pile creams which seem to have no effect on it, Its around the area where i pass when going to the toilet, Could it be my diet? I'm a healthy 45 year old male and this condition is getting me very down as it feels almost like its burning. Any advice would be great
