Very sore feet after walking in wet shoes and socks

Hey all, lately (within the last year) I've noticed that when I'm walking in wet shoes and socks for any more than 15 minutes at a time, my feet swell and are painful to walk on the day or so after. When I tried to look up my symptoms, all I came up with was that I'm probably experiencing some kind of immersion foot, but also from what I can tell immersion foot takes quite a while to set in (certainly more than 15 minutes of exposure). Does anyone else experience these symptoms after walking in wet shoes? Is it something I should see a doctor about, or is it possibly more normal than I think? The weather is about to get very rainy here so I'm trying to get prepared as best I can, as I walk pretty much everywhere I go. Any info or advice is appreciated, I'm open to all suggestions!
