Very tired and constant liver pain

Posted , 1 user is following.

I was diagnosed this year with Gilbert's syndrome. I am a 25 yr old female. I feel tired all the time and find it very difficult to get out of bed. I drag my feet throughout the day. This tiredness is made worse with a constant dull pain in my abdomen where my liver is. Does anyone else have these two combined symptoms? My GP tells me that I shouldn't have any symptoms with GS. I am now concerned that I have something more severe? All my blood tests have come back normal. I have also lost my appetite. I feel that I am like this all the time with no improvements. It has been 6mths since I was diagnosed with GS. I am absolutely over these symptoms. Any ideas???

I have just got results back from ct scan saying that my gallbladder is relatively contracted. What could be the causes?

I also have the dull pain where my liver is, i too have had 3 blood tests now, and all have come back normal except the bilirubin test, which put my score the last time at 28, the tests before were higher. The normal result would be 20 or lower.

I have also had an ultrasound scan which came back normal. After speaking with my docotr today, he diagnosed GS, and said i had nothing to worry about, and my liver is fine. I too am still a bit worried about the dull pains around my liver, which have sometimes been a bit sharper.

I was advised to take anothe liver function test in 3 months time. He also said the dull pain was nothing to worry about.

Your symptoms sound very similar! My bilirubin is 29. My ultra sound came up fine too. My abdominal ct scan was normal also. Although it did mention that my gallbladder was relatively contracted. Whereas, this wasn't picked up on the ultrasound. My doctor said that Gilbert's syndrome shouldn't cause any liver pain. I still have liver pain in that region continuously. I am also very tired and keep sleeping. I have very little energy and no appetite. All blood tests have come back fine too. Next step is my doctor is referring me to a gastroenterologist.

hi, im a 22 year old male an ive just been diagnosed with gilberts after 3 months of doctors visits, they finally got round to a blood test i think they must of been hesitant as i originally went in regarding tiredness. i dont have the pain you speak of but ive been suffering from constant fatigue headaches and trouble concentrating, as well as stomach cramps. think my counts at around 35. my doctor says the same thing but if you check the websites apprently we tick all the boxes so its nothing to worry about. just a shame the doctors arent more well informed really

im a 24 yr old male, was diagnosed yesterday with gilberts after seeing a gastroenterologist, been feeling nauseous daily for the past 4/5 months, fatigued, tired all the time, no energy, dull aches in my stomach/liver area, jaundiced eyes. bilirubin was 31 in january this year, another blood test last month told me it had increased now to 48. i have a lump just below my rib cage on my right side. The dr tells me its nothing to seriously worry about (isnt cancer). I am booked in for an ultra sound scan in 2 months. He said you feel worse when you're ill and that i might have a parasite (i was on holiday in thailand in december 08). I have no apetite due to feeling sick all the time, which has led me to lose about 4kg in weight in the past few months. He said there isnt really any effective medication for nausea and that i just have to ride it out. should i be happy that its highly unlikely that its cancer, or sad that theres no medication for this uncurable gilberts syndrome? how can the doctors not see that people with gilberts all have very similar symptoms if you look at the message boards, but in their textbooks there are apparently no symptoms other than jaundice???

hi i was diagnosed with gilbert's a couple of years back by a gastro doctor having been back and forth to my own GP with digestive problems. Blood test after blood test kept showing my liver function was abnormal. He finally sent me to the hospital where they diagnosed me with ibs and Gilberts. My symptons come in cycles i'll be ok for a few weeks then i feel ill i get abdominal pain around liver area fatique, dizziness, brain fog indigestion and my ibs flares up i also get yellowing round the edges of my eyeballs. When this happens i generally start to drink more water and take milk thistle to help settle it down and have a few early nights. I do sometimes feel like there's something more seriously wrong with me at times, But i try and ignore the symptons knowing that eventually it will wear off ( till next time)cause i'm so fed up of going down to my Doctors.
