Very worried

Nine lots of antibiotics haven't cleared up my UTI so I've been unable to have a cystoscopy. I've now got to have one under a general anaesthetic because the risk of having it done is quite serious due to the possibility of the infection spreading. Has anyone faced this situation because I am worried about this possible complication.

Betty dear.  I would not let them touch me until the infection is done.  Get them doctor to get you on a stronger antibiotic.  I would not take the chance of it speading.  That doctor should know better.  Maybe if they put you in the hospital and give you a antibiotic in IV maybe it would work better they the pills.  Think about it please  Ken

Kenneth thanks for your reply. I've had stronger antibiotics each time none of which clear it. The urologist has said I will be put on antibiotics via IV but I don't know what the alternative is they need to get to root cause of this problem.

First to play it safe I would tell the urologist to put you in the hospital and do the IV antibiotics for at least 3 day 24 hours.  The IV med would get into you blood steam much faster.  After that if they want to do the other they at least you will be in the hospital and if anything happen they will be ready.  I was getting bladder infestion in 2014 had 8 ended up with sepsis Was on IV's for 6 days at the hospital and 11 days at home.  Them infestion are nothing to play with.  Take it ease and I hope they find the problem but be safe  Ken
