Vestibular migraine dizziness

I have. One off an SSRI 12 days ago. I felt spaced out on the med and I feel dizzy with tinnitus and sleep disturbance. I also have anxiety.
Doctors say I have anxiety but cannot explain why my head felt spaced out on the med and why I am dizzy now. I do not know whether I am suffering from vestibular migraine or only anxiety. If anyone has vestibular migraine I would appreciate it if you could describe your symptoms. Does it affect sleep? Are you permanently dizzy? Do you suffer anxiety? Have you tinnitus?
I just don’t want to go on meds again if Drs still can’t give me a diagnosis. Every dr resorts to ssris but I am not depressed and the anxiety is because I have migraine like symptoms which seem constant.
Many thanks

I do. I also have anxiety. I was felling dizzy for a while before being diagnosed. Now I will have some days with slight lightheadedness, usually ha's when I know a migraine is coming. I have always had sleep problems. I am on 20 mg amitriptyline and 400mg magnesium and 200 mg B2. I was getting a migraine once to twice a week. I now get one maybe every 3 weeks or so and they don't seem so extreme. I am also sleeping better

They are ruff & SSRIs don’t help. Try to get to a real headache clinic.
I’ve been through it all. I have anxiety & dizziness, but it’s migraine related.
After so many drugs, Triptans, antidepressants, holistic, acupuncture, massage, anticonvulsants, muscle relaxers, NSAIDS, narcotics, Botox, Topramax, biofeedback, .......... I’m now on Memantine (dementia med) with Magnesium & CoQ10. It’s changed my brain. I still have an old muscle relaxant (Norflex ER) & Fiorecet at times with some anxiety meds. But it took 30 years to get here. Regular Drs & Neurologists just suck. They care but they have no new ideas. It took a designated headache clinic & a psychiatrist to get help. My migraines made me dizzy, sleepy (with no drugs on board) & stroke symptoms. Now they are old fashioned & treatable. Fight, keep seeking for help, & don’t accept less

That is very helpful. Can I ask your age? I am 58. I have come off the Sertraline and my symptoms are worse. Perhaps it is withdrawal. I also believe this is vestibular related. I will look into a headache clinic.
Are your symptoms now gone?
I have awful tinnitus which came on after taking so many meds.

I’m 52. My dizziness is gone. A lot of my weird pre- migraine have gone. Now they are more classic. Withdrawal is common, especially if you stopped it suddenly.
Chronic migraines are a life time of change & struggles. Mine have evolved & my experiences with Drs have been great & awful. I get so nervous before each visit. So it’s a fight.
I wish you the best

I feel exactly the same. I've been fuzzy dizzy headed since March 2017 and my doctor keeps blaming it on anxiety now I can't even get passed them to see a specialist. I'm so fed up with feeling like this 24/7 it's so scary. what are your symptoms? I feel fuzzy dizzy headed it's a weird feeling sometimes I have a stroke like feeling around my left eye. I get shaky and feel sick. and sometimes my eyes go really heavy x

I was constantly told I had anxiety but I slso had sleep disruption and trembling.
I am off Sertraline but the symptoms persist and it looks very much like a vestibular problem. Drs don’t seem to pick this up but you need to see a specialist. I am seeing someone soon to try to get to the bottom of my problems.

Anxiety is a proven part of migraines. Most providers only know the classic migraine syndrome. Most migraine suffers know more than their doctors. I’ve gotten really frustrated with some migraines. The American migraine association has lists of doctors that specialize in migraines. But just keep fighting.
