Vestibular Neuritis

Hi, i went to an ENT and a caloric test revealed weakening in left inner ear. I have balance issues for two months now and some tinnitis. I was told this may recover on its own but takes a long time and i started doing VRT last week. Has anyone had this and improved?

I wouldn't have thought so Jackie. The caloric test, where they put hot and/or cold water in your ear, is specific for the vestibulo-ocular reflex, and a positive (i.e. "weakening" would tend to suggest nerve damage, such as vestibular neuritis, in the affected ear. The Dix-Hallpike, which I'm guessing may also have been carried out on Kim, is the standard test for BPPV.

Jackie, have you still got BPPV? It seems like months since we last spoke about it. Mine lasted two months, but then I got it completely fixed with a single Epley manoeuvre. Can you find someone to help you with this? The ENT doctor I saw was hopeless, but my GP referred me to a vestibular physiotherapist who fixed me in 20 minutes.
